Troubleshooting
Cases
Note
This is a list of typical cases, but many other issues can occur. If the issue is not listed here, you should first try a HPTLC PRO SYSTEM reinit.
If not successful, and if the troubles are on a specific Module, do a HPTLC PRO Module reset.
If the issue persists, do a HPTLC PRO SYSTEM reset.
HPTLC PRO Module has a critical error (marked in Red): do a HPTLC PRO Module reset on the concerned module. If the error persists, do a HPTLC PRO SYSTEM reset on the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM.
An unwanted carrier was detected: do a HPTLC PRO SYSTEM reinit on the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM
HPTLC PRO SYSTEM initialization failed: manually remove the carrier and do a HPTLC PRO SYSTEM reinit on the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM
Conveyor stop operation failed: manually remove the carrier and do a HPTLC PRO SYSTEM reset on the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM
Troubleshooting functions
HPTLC PRO SYSTEM reinit
Available in Display Tab overview.
The HPTLC PRO SYSTEM will reinitialize, useful after an external change (like removing a carrier). See Understanding the HPTLC PRO Module and CAMAG® HPTLC PRO SYSTEM initialization
Important
The HPTLC PRO SYSTEM initialization is automatically triggered when:
All HPTLC PRO Modules of the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM are connected
All HPTLC PRO Modules’ internal initialization are finished
All doors are closed
The HPTLC PRO SYSTEM is online and not locked
HPTLC PRO Module reset
Available in Display Tab overview with a right click on the concerned Module.
The Reset module feature can be interesting in case of a critical error received from the module. If the module was performing a step of a given run while hitting the Reset module entry, the run is interrupted but the other runs on the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM can be recovered, while a reset of the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM causes the interruption of all current runs.
Note
As documented in Understanding the HPTLC PRO Module and CAMAG® HPTLC PRO SYSTEM initialization, the function HPTLC PRO SYSTEM reinit will be automatically performed after a Reset module.
HPTLC PRO SYSTEM reset
Available in HPTLC PRO Settings.
A HPTLC PRO SYSTEM reset can be executed when the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM is in a critical state. It:
Interrupts any executing step
Removes any in-progress sequence of the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM
Performs a reset of each module of the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM
Initializes the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM again automatically (see Understanding the HPTLC PRO Module and CAMAG® HPTLC PRO SYSTEM initialization)
Therefore, a validation popup is used to prevent any unwanted reset. Also, the need to write the name of HPTLC PRO SYSTEM to validate the reset will prevent resetting the wrong System in case of multiple systems.
This will also modify any corresponding opened analyses. The running step(s) are interrupted, and the user has to abort the step(s) in the analysis before trying again when the HPTLC PRO SYSTEM is available.
Important
Before restarting the step(s), the user should verify the state of the HPTLC plate, as the reset may have put it in an unusable state. In most cases, it is better to start again the whole analysis.
