What’s new in visionCATS 4.1
For a complete list of changes, please see the Changelog.
Technology update
.NET

visionCATS is now using a newer long-term supported version of .NET (currently .NET 8), which will give better performance. Also, the application is self-contained, therefore no other framework version than the Windows default one would be installed.
New Windows services
A new Windows service was needed to support the newest HPTLC instruments, like ADC3. It is named visionCATS HPTLC USB Instrument Service.
Due to issues during image acquisition of TLC Visualizer, it was put in a separate visionCATS HPTLC Instrument Camera Controller Service. With this change, any issue during acquisition will not affect running non TLC Visualizer steps.
See Architecture.
New comparison image format
Exported comparison file could take a lot of disk space, to the point that the export could fail in worst case. As comparison’s images aren’t modified, a lossy compression is now done. See Image format.
CAMAG® Automatic Developing Chamber 3 (ADC 3)
visionCATS 4.1 provides the full support of the CAMAG® Automatic Developing Chamber 3 (ADC 3):

This includes:
The definition of steps in visionCATS methods/analyses, see Instrument step parameters
The execution of steps
Usual linked features (changes detection in the HPTLC Logger, support in built-in report templates)
Dedicated manual control functions and dedicated diagnostics
CAMAG® HPTLC PRO Module APPLICATION
visionCATS 4.1 uses parameters compatible with the new needle for HPTLC PRO Module APPLICATION.
Warning
HPTLC PRO Module APPLICATION must be upgraded with the new needle before use. See Needle replacement.
CAMAG® TLC Scanner 4
visionCATS 4.1 is fully compatible with the latest TLC Scanner 4 firmware, enabling operation without the need for a mercury lamp.
Profiles view in the impurity test
In method and analysis files, in the impurity tab, there is a new profiles view mode which can be used to perform profiles checks against a reference track in order to detect impurities.

Evaluation
In the method and analysis files, a new Evaluation assistant frame has been added to the Evaluation tab, which provides clear validation feedback to assist with evaluations.

Spectrum Library Only with Spectrum Library option
A new section has been added to the Spectrum Data tab of the analysis.
